HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER
To be eligible to join City of Wanneroo Fire Service, we ask that you attend brigade monthly meetings and complete a 12 week induction program. This program includes attending training, maintenance and other specific induction events.
At your first meeting, the Brigade Recruitment Officer will explain the membership details, roles and responsibilities. Before becoming an active member, all eligible recruits will then undergo a medical examination and police check (this cost will be paid by the City of Wanneroo Fire Service).
Once you have fulfilled these requirements, you will be ready to go on the next available fire fighter recruitment course.
Before applying, you should seriously consider whether or not you are up to the challenge. We attend fires throughout the year, including public holidays, Christmas Day etc., and face physically and emotionally demanding situations. City of Wanneroo Fire Service advises that you discuss joining a volunteer fire brigade with your family prior to making a commitment to the fire service.
